Human Resources Manager (on-site)
The Human Resources Manager will oversee all aspects of human resources practices and processes. This role will support business needs and ensure the proper implementation of company strategy and objectives. This position requires a hands-on, accurate, and detailed professional with a high level of confidentiality. The ideal candidate will be responsible for promoting Traxxas values and shaping a positive culture in the workplace.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Benefits Administration: Administer employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k) plans. Participate in vendor selection and facilitate annual open enrollment.
- Compliance: Provide year-end testing of the 401(k) plan to ensure compliance with IRS regulations and prepare the annual 401(k) 5500 audit and filing.
- Employee Relations: Respond to and resolve employee grievances and concerns, ensuring appropriate actions are taken for resolution.
- Staffing and Recruitment: Identify staffing needs for exempt and non-exempt positions. Support management by establishing and overseeing recruitment, selection, hiring, and onboarding programs. Counsel managers on candidate selection, conduct and analyze turnover and exit interviews, and recommend changes.
- Payroll Management: Oversee bi-weekly payroll activities. Monitor all pay practices and systems for effectiveness and cost containment.
- Workers' Compensation and Unemployment: Manage and report workers' compensation claims. Investigate and respond to unemployment claims for terminated employees.
- Leave Management: Process leave of absence requests, including FMLA and disability.
- Legal Compliance: Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource requirements at local, state, and federal levels. Conduct investigations, maintain records, and provide guidance on HR practices and policies.
- Policy Development: Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Compensation: Prepare and extend offer letters with detailed compensation information for exempt employees. Monitor and manage the performance evaluation process and improve the talent management system. Collaborate with leadership to establish and maintain a total compensation plan, including wage and salary structures.
- Market Research: Participate in market research to maintain competitive compensation practices and policies, including salary ranges, to help recruit and retain high-performing staff.
- HR Staff Management: Recruit, interview, hire, and train HR staff. Oversee daily workflow, implement department budget, and facilitate professional training and development for HR staff.
- Strategic Collaboration: Collaborate with senior leadership on goals and strategies for recruiting, training, retention, and morale.
- HR Systems Management: Manage and improve the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and implement new HR systems as needed.
- Conflict Resolution: Conduct investigations, hear and resolve complaints, and counsel employees and managers.
- Training Programs: Develop and maintain company-wide training programs to address various training needs, including needs assessments, communication skills, technical training, and management development.
- Employee Communication: Manage employee communication and feedback through company meetings, employee satisfaction surveys, focus groups, one-on-one meetings, and other channels.
- Employee Engagement: Determine and recommend employee relations practices and policies necessary to support high levels of employee engagement and retention. Keep the leadership team informed of progress toward goals that support the company’s high-performance culture.

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
- PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
- 10+ years of Human Resources experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Current working knowledge of federal and state employment and payroll laws.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow with exceptional multi-tasking, follow-through, and organizational skills.
- Acute attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with HR-related software (PeopleSoft).
- Broad knowledge of human resources management and organizational development best practices.
- Ability to lead, present to a diverse audience, and act as a change agent.
- Proven strategic, problem-solving, and critical/analytical thinking skills.
